Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 3:32 PM -
Second graders from Garden Park Elementary School in Garden Grove wrote letters to say thanks to Agromin for donating three tons of compost for their school garden. Students and parents planted vegetable and flower gardens on school grounds as part of a program to teach kids about gardening and respect for the earth. The students are responsible for maintaining the gardens throughout the school year.Labels: Agromin, compost, Garden Grove, Garden Park Elementary School, school garden

Volunteers Beautify Santa Paula
Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 4:39 PM -
A great group of volunteers descended on four locations on Harvard Boulevard in Santa Paula--and happily got their hands dirty. They removed weeds and trash, amended soil, planted flowers and shrubs, mulched, raked and watered. The volunteers are part of America in Bloom--a national grassroots effort to connect people with plants and to promote civic pride and volunteerism. The community now enjoys beautiful new landscapes along the boulevard.
Agromin, which donated 1 ton of planting mix to the project, was one of several companies participating. Others included Crop Protection Services, Do-Rights Nursery, Amazing Grace Landscape, Coleman Landscape, Reyes Landscape, Digital Edge Photography, Santa Paula Times, O’Reilly’s and Heritage Hardware.
Diane Davis head Santa Paula's America in Bloom chapter. The board of directors consists of Gary Nasalroad, John Chamberlain, Cathy Sorenson and Don Loomer.
The organization has identified other areas in Santa Paula that could benefit from America in Bloom beautification efforts. Once re-landscaped, the group then hopes to enlist schools, service organizations, churches and neighborhood groups to “adopt” these areas to help with maintenance.

See you at the Wings, Wheels & Rotors Expo! Sunday, October 24
Friday, October 1, 2010 at 1:00 PM -
Agromin is excited to be part of the Ninth Annual Wings, Wheels & Rotors Exposition, Sunday, October 24 at the Los Alamitos Army Airfield. The expo will have a huge display of military and emergency aircraft and military equipment. A car show will feature custom cars, new autos, motorcycles, roadsters, antique vehicles and hot rods. They'll be plenty of food and live entertainment.
Kids will get a chance to paint pumpkins at our booth with the help of high schoolers involved in the Buena Park High School chapter of the Future Farmers of America. They can also pick up free green recycling activity booklets and get their face painted.
The pumpkins come from a one-acre pumpkin patch on the base. Agromin used compost made from organic material collected from surrounding communities, to supply the nutrients to bring the otherwise fallow ground to a healthy status. Seventy pumpkin plants were planted and now the pumpkins are ready just in time for Halloween.
Admission to the Expo is free. The Wings, Wheels & Rotors Expo, presented by the Los Alamitos Area Chamber of Commerce and the California National Guards Joint Forces Training Base, runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, go to . Hope to see you there!Labels: Agromin, free pumpkins, Los Alamitos Army Airfield, Orange County, organic recycling, Wheels and Rotors Expo, Wings

Do you notice anything different?
-
It’s like the difference between apples and oranges ... so perhaps a better way to phrase the question would be - “Do you notice everything different?”
We are thrilled to announce that a comprehensive brand update for Agromin is approaching completion, and although some aspects are still in process, we have (impatiently) decided to share the news, and a preview, of Agromin’s fresh new face.
Our decision to revisit Agromin’s brand was not influenced by any need to change who we are as a company. Rather, it was driven by our desire to better convey who we are - our vision, values, commitment, what we do, and above all - why we do it.
The core of who we are - our sharp focus on the point where sustainability and soil intersect - remains unchanged. We continue to demonstrate this focus in our practice of sustainable organics recycling, and in our sustainable production of the highest quality soil products.
Our new website is on the way. In the meantime, scroll down for a preview of the coming change - a handful of new designs that are now coming together to form the whole of the new Agromin brand.
One of several new messages developed for a vehicle sign campaign in partnership with Rainbow Disposal.

Truckin' out our new message with Rainbow Disposal
-
We recently launched a vehicle sign campaign with Huntington Beach-based Rainbow Disposal that gives us a great opportunity to bring Agromin's new brand message directly to the public. We developed multiple green recycling designs and slogans to place on Rainbow Disposal recycling trucks.
See the concepts below. We have mixed the chosen finals together with ideas that never “made the cut" because we think they all deserve a look.
And keep an eye for our signs as Rainbow trucks travel in cities throughout Orange County!
