• Conejo Valley Homeschoolers Visit Agromin

  • Forty children from Conejo Valley Homeschoolers and 12 adults visited Agromin recently to get an up-close, first-hand education about organic waste recycling. The children, mostly ages 8 through 12, and their parents stood on a giant scale. The group weighed 2 1/2 tons. That's a lot, but it would take about 140,000 groups of this size to reach the amount of tons of organic waste that Agromin processes into compost each year. That's hundreds of thousands of tons of waste that would otherwise end up in the landfill. Instead, it's repurposed into compost and used by growers, landscapers and consumers to produce healthy fruits, vegetables and flowers and to create thick, green lawns.
