  • Juniors and seniors at Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village received an up-close lesson in organic waste management when they visited Agromin's green recycling facility in Oxnard. The students are currently enrolled in a college-level course at Oaks Christian where they are studying solid waste management, land use and environmental science.

Agromin's Dave Green showed the students the composting process--from green materials intake to finished compost--and discussed the importance of diverting food waste and other organics from landfills and then converting them into products used by growers.

The students also learned about environmental and science careers in the organics recycling industry. Judging from the knowledge, concern and interest shown by these high schoolers, our environmental future will be in good hands!
